True or False
Can you tell whether this story is
True or false
On the last weekend of the school holidays my family, my brother’s friend Saxon and I went over to our bach in Purau Bay, and it was very exciting.
Koby and Saxon went kayaking a lot and liked playing in the water, while I more liked to go up in the top bunk bed to read, whereas Koby and Saxon more liked to use their mattresses to make a slide down from the top bunk! (luckily we were sleeping in separate rooms!)
Through the entire weekend including the trip to our bach I finished an entire Harry Potter book (Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets), I just finished to end on the trip back.

My point of view writing
This week our class had to write a short essay on the book ‘Wonder’ by R.J. Palacio and on what person he wrote it in. (e.g. first person, second person.)
We had to find 3 examples and quotes to back up what we said in our essay. I really like the book 'Wonder' and can’t wait to read more. Here is my short essay.
‘Wonder’ is a story about a boy who feels ordinary on the inside, but he is always reminded of how different he is by how people respond when they see him. This is R.J Palacio’s first novel and it is written in the 1 person.
I think ‘Wonder’ is written in the first person because it says ‘I’ instead of ‘he’.
“Mom!” I said, pulling my backpack away from her. I walked in front of her through the crowd.”
Also I think it’s written in first person because the things in his head are written in the book as if we are the ones thinking and feeling.
“I thought about that Darth Sidious comment. By now it felt like that had happened a hundred years ago.”
Furthermore I think It’s written in first person because it is written in the emotion that he is feeling
“Charlotte. Mom, I said everyone was nice already.”

My Mihi
For the past two weeks Rimu class have been writing and recording their mihis. We had three things that had to be included:
- A drawing or photo of ourselves
- Places of significance to us
- Images or drawings to do with your culture
We have to score ourselves using a rubric, I think I will score high. I hope you like it.
